• PDF (Adobe Acrobat's Portable Document Format) We accept press-ready PDFs created using Acrobat Distiller. PDFs created by exporting directly from your layout program will not be accepted due to potential problems that may arise during this method of file production. |
• QuarkXPress/InDesign QuarkXPress and InDesign files should be accompanied with all supporting graphic files and fonts. |
| Contract Proof Requirements |
| A printed proof should be supplied with all files to ensure accurate print reproduction quality. All proofs should be made from the original data file and include trim/bleed marks. A Matchprint or Kodak Approval proof should be provided for color critical files. |
| General Guidelines |
• All files and supporting art should be submitted as four-color process (CMYK). Do not submit RGB files or files containing additional color channels. |
• All spot colors should be converted to CMYK. |
• All images should be a minimum of 300 dpi. |
• Fonts used in submitted files should be either Macintosh Postscript Type 1 fonts or OpenType fonts (.otf) with Postscript outline. We do not accept TrueType fonts. |
• Total area coverage (TAC) for all supplied material should not exceed 300%. |
| Native Application Files |
| QuarkXPress/InDesign Files |
• Flatten any transparency. |
• Do not menu-style fonts (i.e. by selecting bold in the style menu). Use the font variation instead. |
• Use the "Collect for Output" option in QuarkXPress, or the "Preflight/Package" option in InDesign to ensure all images and fonts are captured and included with your native layout file. |
| Adobe Photoshop Files |
• Flatten all images. Layered files will not be accepted. |
• Save all images as either a TIFF or EPS. |
• All Photoshop files should be a minimum of 300 dpi at 100% of final size. |
| Adobe Illustrator Files |
• Save all Illustrator files as an EPS. |
• Outline fonts when possible. Submit acceptable fonts according to the General Guidelines when fonts are not outlined. |
