Michael Beale, senior vice president of Highwoods Properties, Inc., is responsible for the operations of the Florida portfolio. Highwoods Properties, Inc. is a NYSE listed REIT that owns the largest portfolio of suburban office buildings in the Southeast US.

Prior to joining the company in 2000, Beale served as vice president of Koger Equity Inc.. Beale was the past president of the Central Florida chapter of the NAIOP (2005) and also serves on the board of directors for the Mid-Florida Economic Development Commission. Beale is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).

Walter Byrd is one of the partners leading the overall South Florida operations for Transwestern as well as the industrial practice. During his career, Byrd and his team have represented some of the largest corporate users in South Florida, and have leased properties on behalf of many major institutional owners, and have also assisted clients in their purchase and sale of assets.

Before joining Transwestern, Byrd was a senior vice president in the South Florida office of Trammell Crow Co. Prior to joining Trammell Crow, Byrd was a senior director in the South Florida office of Cushman & Wakefield. Byrd is on the advisory board for the Center of Real Estate Studies for the University of Florida, and is active with the Urban Land Institute and the Council of Logistics Management.

Ted Bywater is chairman of the board for the Bywater Co., which he started in 1997. He entered the real estate development business in 1969 as a managing general partner for Messers, Trammel Crow of Dallas and Frank Carter and Ewell Pope of Atlanta. He also helped form Bradley, Young & Bywater Properties headquartered in Tampa.

The Bywater Co. is a full service commercial real estate firm specializing in the sales, leasing and management of retail, office and industrial space. It has been responsible for the sale and leasing of more than 10 million sf of office, retail and warehouse space in addition to its extensive brokerage, investment, management and development activities.

Phil Carroll is a senior vice president in the income property group of KeyBank Real Estate Capital and has direct responsibility for the commercial loan origination business in the Southeast.

Prior to joining KeyBank in 2003, Carroll spent 18 years with the real estate banking group at Bank of America. He was in the Miami office for 11 years and the Baltimore office for seven years.

Carroll also worked at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City for six years. In the 1980s, Carroll was a candidate for the MAI appraisal designation, having completed eight of the 10 required courses for designation.

John Coleman is senior vice president for Florida for EastGroup Properties. He oversees all of the operations in Orlando, Tampa, Fort Myers, Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale and focuses on new development and acquisition opportunities. Currently, Coleman is pursuing a new market for EastGroup Properties in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Prior to EastGroup, Coleman was senior vice president with Duke-Weeks Realty Corp. He has also worked within the Real Estate Division of GE Capital and for Mobil Land Development. He is a member of the Orlando and Tampa chapters of the NAIOP, and is a registered architect.

Susan Cusick is regional director for the Southeast region of Imperial Capital Bank/ITLA Capital Corp. headquartered in La Jolla, CA. Cusick is primarily responsible for the firm’s multifamily and commercial credit facilities production and operations covering the Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina market areas.

Cusick has been in the banking industry for more than 15 years. Her previous experience was in bank regulation, loan servicing and asset conversions.

William Holly is president and founder of Holly Real Estate. Previously, Holly founded the Miami office for Insignia/ESG; was a director at Cushman & Wakefield and began his real estate career at Codina Bush Group.

Holly has overseen projects throughout the US, as well as in Mexico and Romania. He is currently developing Florida’s first green high-rise office building: Miami Green. He is a founding shareholder of Coral Gables Trust where he serves on the board of directors. In addition, he is a founding shareholder of Florida Gulf Bank in Ft. Myers.

Edgar Jones is the vice president and regional development officer for the Florida operations of the Rockefeller Group Development Corp. Jones is responsible for the marketing, leasing and development of the firm’s current projects in southern Florida, as well as for the identification of new opportunities throughout the state.

Jones previously acted as managing director for Cushman & Wakefield of Florida Inc., as well as director of office services for Grubb and Ellis. He is a certified property manager (CPM), a licensed real estate broker, as well as a licensed mortgage broker.

Jose I. Juncadella is principal of Fairchild Partners. Since 1981 he has established himself is one of the top commercial real estate professional in Dade County. Juncadella has been responsible for the successful ease-up of Beacon Centre, Beacon Industrial Park, Beacon TradePort, Beacon Lakes, Westside Plaza I, II and III and several other offices and industrial properties.

He was the NAIOP broker of the year 1996 and finalist for several years for South Florida. He also holds an SIOR dual designation office and industrial specialist.

Kenneth Krasnow is ARA Florida’s chief operating officer where he is responsible for statewide operating and market expansion, as well as the continued development of service areas including institutional mid-market, land, and capital market advisory services including debt/equity placement.

Prior to joining ARA Florida, Krasnow was Trammell Crow Co.’s executive vice president. His tenure with Trammell Crow was preceded by his work as Cushman & Wakefield’s executive managing director and New York area leader.

Krasnow is active in civic and industry organizations including the Real Estate Board of New York, CoreNet Global, YM/WREA, ULI, and the Association for Better New York (ABNY).

Jack Lowell is managing director of Flagler Real Estate Services, Inc. where he currently handles leasing and marketing of office buildings throughout Miami-Dade County. Most recently, he is directly responsible for leasing Met 2 Office Tower, a 47-story, 750,000-sf office tower scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2009.

Prior to Flagler, Lowell was the chief executive of Summa Properties. He also served as a partner in the Tishman Speyer Properties Miami office. In addition Lowell has been honored as a broker of the year for both the NAIOP and BOMA International.

Steven W. Moreira is the President and CEO of the Magic Companies, which consists of Magic Financial Services, Magic Properties and Investments, Magic Realty, Energy Capital Properties, and Allied Capital Advisors. Steven has been involved in Commercial and Residential Real Estate lending by assisting clients in buying, brokering, and financing transactions for over 30 years; acting in the advisor, broker, principal, landlord, mortgage banker, and private lender capacity. Steven has access to both Private and Wall Street Institutional Financing for acquisition, business development, and joint ventures. Steven personally focuses on financing Multifamily, Office, Mixed Use, and Special Use Properties.

Kenneth E. Morris is CEO and president of Morris Southeast Group/Corfac International. His father founded the firm more than 30 years ago. Some of Morris’ noteworthy clients include Opus South, BankAtlantic Corp., Rayovac Corp., Martin Professional, Lloyd’s Register, First American Title Corp., Union Bank, Metro PCS, Windrose Properties REIT, and the Rendina Cos.

In 2002, he was honored by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, with the SIOR designation which is the most prestigious designation in commercial real estate brokerage industry. Additionally, Morris is the recipient of Real Property Administrator’s designation from BOMA International.

Bill Moss is senior managing director of the Florida region of CB Richard Ellis. In this role, Moss is responsible for all of the activities and operations in the firm's nine Florida offices. Moss was recently recognized with the Chairman's Excellence Award honoring him as the firm's top manager nationwide.

In his career, Moss has been a past president and board member of the Central Florida chapter of NAIOP, metro board member of the Central Florida YMCA, corporate council of the Greater Orlando Economic Development Council, University of Central Florida Downtown advisory board, Sun Trust administrative board and the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce.

Larry Richey is senior managing director for the Central and North Florida offices of Cushman & Wakefield. In that position, he is responsible for the company’s offices in Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Before joining Cushman & Wakefield, Richey was a certified public accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Atlanta. He is also an attorney and a member of the Georgia Bar.

Richey’s professional affiliations include Florida State University’s College of Business and Real Estate executive board, the University of Florida Real Estate advisory board, the State Bar of Georgia, Urban Land Institute, NAIOP, and the Real Estate Investment Council.

Moses Salcido is senior development manager, North Florida for the Panattoni Development Co. LLC. His career highlights include leading the initial entry into the Central Florida market by a Southeast Regional office/industrial REIT in 1995; and managing corporate real estate assets for Progress Energy, Florida and initiating a 200,000-sf corporate headquarters facility for the major Southeast utility company.

Salcido is also a board member for CoreNet Global and is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).

David J. Schwartz is managing principal of the Management Consortium, Inc., a hospitality advisory services firm based in Hollywood, FL. He brings with him over 30 years of extensive experience in hospitality organizational and operational management consulting. He founded the company in Chicago in 1997, and moved it to South Florida.

He has served on the seminar faculty of the American Management Association and several colleges and universities, including Florida International University where he is an adjunct professor in the School of Hospitality Management Graduate Program. Schwartz is involved in several industry organizations, including the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Florida Hotel Association, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Lodging and Hospitality Association (board member), the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), and the Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association (Education Committee).

Jerry Shaw is the senior vice president of real estate for Opus South Corp. Shaw has more than 20 years experience commercial development and construction, all of which has been with Opus South Corp. As the senior vice president, he is focused on the Tampa Bay area projects.

He is a member of the NAIOP and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He also sits on the board governors for the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce.

Cynthia C. Shelton is director of investment sales for Colliers Arnold Orlando. She works as part of the Milano-Shelton Investment Team. Her main focus is selling investment properties, primarily shopping centers, in the Southeastern US with an emphasis on Florida. In addition, she also provides consulting and property.

Among her professional ties, Shelton is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, the International Council of Shopping Center and the Florida Real Estate Tax Reform Committee, which is governor appointed. She is also a licensed Florida real estate broker.

David Sobelman is vice president of Calkain Realty Advisors, the private markets division of Calkain Cos. He specializes in single- and multi-tenant retail, industrial, and office net-leased transactions.

Sobelman began his tenure in the commercial real estate industry as a research analyst with Grubb & Ellis in the Washington, DC area. Prior to his real estate career, Sobelman was appointed to several positions within the executive branch of the federal government; including the White House.

Michael Stein is managing director of Aztec Group Inc. and focuses on multihousing investment sales and financing. Stein’s most recent transactions include the $102.5-million sale of the Monticello Apartments in Miami Lakes, the $43-million financing of Glenmoor Apartments in West Palm Beach, and the $60-million joint venture structuring of Radius, a mixed-use residential-commercial development in Hollywood.

Stein is an active committee member at the Museum of Contemporary Art, real estate chair of the Commerce and Professions division of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and a member of the Young Presidents at Mount Sinai.

Scott Stephens is the principal in-charge of HREC Investment Advisors-Tampa. Stephens was formerly a managing director of Insignia/ESG Hotel Partners where he specialized in hotel, resort, and golf single-asset investment sales.

Prior to joining Hotel Partners, he was a principal in International Hospitality. He was also an associate of PKF Consulting. He maintains the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and is a licensed Florida real estate broker. He is also a member of the Society of Golf Appraisers (SGA).

Keith Tickell is executive vice president-development for Flagler Development Group. He oversees the development operations of all Flagler projects in the north, central and south Florida markets.

Tickell joined Flagler in May 2001 from the North Highland Co. in Atlanta. In his 24-year career he has significant finance, strategic planning, and mergers and acquisitions experience. He is active in NAIOP and serves on the board of directors of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

Todd Yates is senior vice president of national development and general manager of the Southeast regional office of the Alter Group. In his position, he directs all build-to-suit and development activities throughout the Southeastern US. He is also responsible for business development and the coordination of real estate services for corporate clients throughout the country.

Formerly an area manager for Colgate-Palmolive, Yates began his career as a commercial real estate broker with CB Commercial in 1983. He joined the Alter Group in 1989. He is a member of the National Association of Industrial & Office Parks, the Industrial Development Research Council S.E. Chapter board of directors, and the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors.
